One year ago, on Oct. 17, 2025, Vicki LaRee Sydow passed away.
Vicki didn’t want a funeral or an obituary, so there are many people who may not know that she passed. As we come up on a year without her, it felt like the right time to simply share and make sure she is remembered.
Vicki was fiercely independent, hardworking, smart, funny, and strong. She could do just about anything she set her mind to, and she passed that same toughness and drive on to her children. She was always there with a push when you needed one and a reminder that you could do anything you set your mind to.
More than anything, Vicki loved her people. If you were lucky enough to be one of her people, you knew just how deeply she loved and how generously she gave. She was always there to take care of you, make you laugh, or make sure you were well fed.
A year later, it’s the little things that make us miss her the most. Her silliness that made us laugh, the comfort of her cooking, and simply knowing she was there. There is a space in our lives that only she could fill, and we feel her absence every day.
She was truly one of a kind, and she was so very loved.
