David Delos Kallhoff was born June 6, 1945, to Paul and Katherine (Venteicher) Kallhoff in Madison, Minnesota, and passed away Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family in Beaver Crossing, at the age of 81.
David attended school in Marietta, Minnesota. On Sept. 18, 1965, David was united in marriage to Diane Roggenbuck at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Madison. David served in the United States Army Reserves from 1966 to 1972. In 1967, David and Diane moved to Beaver Crossing, where he began working as a farmhand for Weilage Farms.
From 1975 to 1983, David drove a truck for Ricenbaw Trucking. Over the years, he held various jobs before becoming an owner/operator in 1998, driving truck for Fremont Contract Carriers. He continued trucking until his retirement in 2011.
Retirement did not keep David from working for long. He went on to work for Cross Farms, where he remained until 2025. David took pride in his work and was known for his dedication, reliability, and willingness to lend a hand.
Above all, David will be remembered not simply for the jobs he held or the miles he traveled but for the life he built with his family and the lasting impression he made on those who knew him.
David was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Beaver Crossing. He was also a member of Beaver Crossing American Legion Post #178 serving as Post Commander for many years. He was a member of the Beaver Crossing Volunteer Fire Department, as well.
David was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Frank and Rose Roggenbuck; six brothers and four sisters
David is survived by his wife of 61 years, Diane Kallhoff of Beaver Crossing; Angela (Kenny) Pekarek of Seward; Tim (Darla) Kallhoff of Lincoln; Dan (Liz) Kallhoff of Exeter; Joe Kallhoff (Michelle Lewis) of Beaver Crossing; grandchildren, Klayton Pekarek (fiance', Abby), Kaylee Pekarek, Mitchell (Morgan), Matthew (friend, Sadie), Marcus (fiance', Morgan), Troy, Brett, Will, Tommy, Paul, Creighton, Kyler, Cooper Kallhoff; great-grandchildren, Burke, Teagan, Blake and Brooks Kallhoff; siblings, Dean (Monica) Kallhoff, twin sister, Dorothy Adelman, and Michael (Cheryl) Kallhoff; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Beaver Crossing. Funeral mass will be Thursday, Oct. 8, at the church.
