Luke Hoffschneider of Centennial High won a state title at state speech March 21. Hoffschneider was the champion in the Class C serious prose competition.

The Concordia University women's basketball team saw its season end March 21 in the NAIA round of 16. The Bulldogs lost to Providence 73-66 despite 18 points from Kendal Brigham. Providence outscored CU 24-16 in the fourth quarter.
The Seward baseball team managed just one hit in a 6-3 loss to Wahoo March 21. Seward led 3-0 after the second inning, but the Warriors scored three in the third and took the lead with two in the fourth. Seward's only hit was a single by Reggie Sukup, who drove in two runs in the game. The Jays are scheduled to play St. Paul/Palmer at 12:30 p.m. and Aurora at 3 p.m. Friday.
The Seward girls' soccer team picked up a 2-0 win at Auburn March 21. Up next for the Jays is Nebraska City on Saturday, March 23, starting at 11 a.m. at Seward Elementary.
The Seward golf team will host a tournament today starting at 10 a.m. Among the teams in the field are Milford and Crete.
