Seward juniors stay on winning track

The Seward ZKE Storage juniors went 3-1 on the baseball diamond last week, with their lone loss coming to Wahoo.

Seward opened the week with a 12-3 win over Crete Nestle Purina June 6. Bostyn Hall was 2-4 and drove in three runs for Seward.

The Seward juniors finished with 10 hits in the loss to Wahoo but couldn’t cross home plate. Brycen Burt was 3-4, and Karson Dyer was 2-3.

Seward played the Cornerstone Kings June 9 and won 10-5 behind a 3-4 day by Happ. Kyle Riley and Dyer had two hits each, as well. Dyer also struck out seven in 4.1 innings.

Seward finished the week shutting out Stromsburg-Osceola-Shelby 8-0 June 11. Riley was 3-3, and Happ and Quinn Berner had two hits each.

Seward (8-2) was to host Waverly June 13 and play in a tournament in Omaha starting Thursday, June 15.
