Karleen C. Stutzman

April 15, 1960 – April 13, 2018

Karleen Caryl (Cochran) Stutzman was born April 15, 1960, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Alfred and Janice (Beyl) Cochran, the oldest of four children, and passed away April 13, 2018, at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln at age 57. As a young girl, Karleen attended Raymond Central Public Schools, where she was a 1978 graduate of Raymond Central High School. She furthered her education by attending the Lincoln School of Commerce, where she received a degree in accounting. Karleen was employed in bookkeeping at Domino’s Pizza and later with Sun West Floral and Cheever Construction Company, all in Lincoln. 

On Aug. 18, 1985, she was united in marriage to Kent

Stutzman in Lincoln, and to this union a daughter, Charli, was born. Karleen and Kent resided in Agnew since 1987, where she enjoyed gardening and landscaping, canning and quilting. She was a volunteer on the Lancaster County 4-H Council and served on the board of directors for Cheever Construction. Karleen enjoyed running and other forms of exercise and loved to compete in various running events. Karleen will be most remembered for her willingness to help others and her positive outlook in life.

Survivors include her husband, Kent of Agnew; daughter and son-in-law, Charli and Tyler Richters of Seward; honorary family members, Kendra and Dusty Hawkins of Gretna; three step-daughters, Tina Stutzman of Lincoln, Tara and Mike Winters of Milford and Tami and Chris

Girard of Lincoln; parents, Alfred and Janice Cochran of Raymond; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Angela Cochran of Knoxville, Iowa, and Paul and Heidi Cochran of Malcolm; a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Pat Isaacson of Agnew; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her uncle, Robert Beyl.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Milford Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Tim Springer officiating. Interment will be in Milford Mennonite Cemetery.
