Judy LaRue (McKay) Chloupek, age 85 of Lincoln, passed away Oct. 16, 2026.
Judy was born Feb. 9, 1941, to Lyle and Clara McKay in Fairbury. After graduating from Lincoln High, she worked at the L.J. Messer Company, where she met her future husband. In 1962 Judy and Richard Chloupek were married and went on to have a daughter, Terri, and a son, John.
Throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, she worked part time at her family’s pizza place, Romanos. In 1976, Judy got a job at Union Insurance Company and worked there until she retired in 2001. She was an avid reader, loved word puzzles, traveling, collecting teddy bears and antiques, but her favorite thing was her three grandkids.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, Lyle and Clara McKay; siblings, Dennis McKay, Jim McKay, Doris Brown (McKay), and Jerry McKay; her parents-in-law, Robert and Florence Chloupek; in-laws, Lowell Nissen, Beverly Nissen (Chloupek), and Bill Bird.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Chloupek; children, Terri Larson (Chloupek) and her spouse David Larson, and John Chloupek; grandkids, Bailey Larson, Emma Larson, Gavin Chloupek; and her siblings, JoAnn Brown (McKay), Robert McKay and beloved nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be Monday, Oct. 26 at the Seward Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life is planned for the future. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation, an organization Judy felt strongly about.
Arrangements by Volzke Funeral Home.
