E'lonna Gesch was born Sept. 4, 1931, at Ewing and passed away March 28, 2025, peacefully, with her daughter, Patti Gesch Munoz (Gustavo) and grandchildren, Isabella and Aiden at her side.
She was born and raised in Nebraska, living most of her life in Seward, where all friends and family surrounded her. E'lonna is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Patricia (Gustavo) Munoz; daughter, Jean (Michael) Slocum; her brother, Myron Shavlik; her sister, Pam Hubel; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Gesch; her son, Steve Gesch; her parents, Stephen and Jennie Shavlik; and her sister, Donna Shavlik Hubbard.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, E'lonna’s life was marked by devotion to her family, to service through ministry, and above all, to her Lord. Her family finds comfort knowing she is now at rest in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ – reunited with her beloved husband and son – and waiting patiently for the rest of her family to join her around the throne of grace.
A gravesite funeral service will be Thursday, May 1, at 10 a.m. at the Geneva Cemetery in Geneva.
