Edward G. Taylor, age 85, of Ulysses, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, in David City. He was born July 21, 1939, to Max and Dorothy (Garhart) Taylor in O’Neill. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife Margaret Houck on June 21, 1965, in York.
Edward loved to go camping, riding his horses, and traveling to Colorado and South Dakota. He enjoyed the many family activities that were spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edward cherished all the time that was spent riding in the truck with his sons.
He is survived by his children, Mark Taylor of Ulysses; Steve (Tuul) Taylor of Milford; Deanna (Ken) McCartney of Ulysses; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Edwin Taylor of Fairbury, Lorretta Walker of Michigan; Don (Sharon) Taylor of York; and Donna Scheils of York.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Visitation will be from 1 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, with the family greeting friends from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Metz Mortuary in York. The funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Metz Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for later designation.
