Dorothy Jean Ost (Stutzman) peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Dec. 26, 2025. She was 74 years old. Dorothy was born to Ervin and Jean Stutzman on April 4, 1951, in Milford.
She attended Concordia High and obtained her Nursing Associate degree in Lincoln. She married Marvin David Ost, former resident of Seward, on May 15, 1971. They had four children in Nebraska and Wyoming before moving to Southern California in 1986.
Dorothy spent her career joyfully working with the elderly in numerous retirement communities with a focus on assisted living. Her most important job was as a spouse and parent by caring for her husband, children and her beloved pets. She spent countless hours with her family, cooking meals and laughing around the dinner table while always saving time for nightly ice cream treats.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin; children (and spouses) Dina (and Gregg) Premer of Omaha, Clay (and Casie) Ost of San Diego, California, Jamie (and Kemp) Goode of Sparks, Nevada, and Joshua Ost of Carlsbad, California; siblings (and spouses) Dick (and Vernane) Stutzman, Larry Stutzman, Jackie Argue and Doug (and Lisa) Stutzman; she had eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A private family service will be conducted in Menifee, California.
