Broncos sweep home triangular

The Centennial volleyball team won both matches in a home triangular Oct. 3, beating Weeping Water 20-25, 25-15, 25-20 and Twin River 25-18, 25-17.

Karley Naber recorded her 1,000th career dig in the Weeping Water match and finished with 15 in the match.

“That was a great shining moment,” Coach Alex Anstine said.

Catelynn Bargen led the CHS offense with 14 kills. Naber added nine and Cora Payne put down eight.

“Once we got rolling, we did a nice job balancing our attack,” Anstine said.

The Broncos came out strong in the second set and went on a 10-1 run in the third.

“We have to challenge ourselves to be disciplined. Don’t take a point off,” Anstine said.

Naber recorded 11 kills in the win over Twin River and added six more digs.

Ella Wambold delivered 33 assists against Weeping Water and 20 against Twin River.

The Broncos (16-7) were off until Oct. 10 when they travel to Fillmore Central for a triangular. On Thursday, Oct. 12, CHS will host David City and Aquinas starting at 5 p.m.

The Southern Nebraska Conference tournament starts Monday, Oct. 16. Centennial will play David City at Centennial Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the opening round. The championship match is Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at Milford.
