MEETING MINUTES Board of Education Regular Meeting April 11, 2016 7:00 PM District Office Attendance Taken at 7:03 PM: Present Board Members: Paul Duer, Lisa Dworak, Scott Pekarek, Jerry Rumery, Ryne Seaman, Curt Sherman. 1. Preliminary Procedures 1.1. Call meeting to order & announce Open Meetings Act is Posted 1.2. Public Notice as publicized per board policy 1.3. Roll Call 1.3.a. Action to excuse board members if necessary 1.4. Pledge of Allegiance 1.5. Mission Statement: The School District of Seward, in cooperation with parents and community, affirms that all students will have the skills to become productive and contributing members of a global community. The district is committed to development of each student academically, emotionally, socially and physically. 1.6. Approval of Agenda Motion Passed: Motion to approve the agenda as presented passed with a motion by Jerry Rumery and a second by Curt Sherman. Discussion: Ryne Seaman congratulated Dr. Barnes on his Superintendent of the Year award. 3. Reports 3.1. Administrator Reports Discussion Written reports were received from the administrators. 3.2. Student Board Member Report Discussion: Alexa Bruick presented her student board report. 3.3. BIST Discussion: Jessica Dominy presented on Behavioral Intervention Support Team(BIST). 3.4. TRANE Contract Discussion: Dr. Barnes updated the board on the TRANE Contract. 3.5. Legislative Update Discussion: Dr. Barnes gave the board a legislative update. 4. Discussion Items 4.1. Buildings and Grounds Discussion: Dr. Barnes and Tom Vajgrt discussed buildings and grounds issues. 4.2. Europe Art Trip Discussion: Dr. Barnes discussed the Europe Art Trip. 4.3. Pre-School Discussion: Dr. Barnes updated the board on Pre-School staffing. 4.4. Central Conference Discussion: Dr. Barnes discussed Central Conference schools and reported that Fairbury will be leaving the conference and Adams Central has applied for memberships. 5.
