Harlan Naber

Harlan Ralph Naber, 92, died April 25, 2012, at Heartland Park in Seward.

Mr. Naber was born Feb. 24, 1920, at the family farm near Waco to Hugo and Florentine (Schlueter) Naber.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from May 16, 1939-Oct. 4, 1943.

On June 11, 1944, he married Mildred Anderson at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Goehner.

The Nabers farmed near Waco until their retirement when they moved to Utica.

Mr. Naber was a member of the Utica American Legion Post 49 for 61 years.

Mr. Naber was preceded in death by his wife Mildred; brother and sister-in-law Rupert and Bernice Naber; and brother-in-law Arlin Gocke.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law Clyde and Helen Naber, Roca, Neil and Erma Naber, Waco, and Wayne and Joan Naber, Waco; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister Dorothy Gocke, Utica.

Service was April 30, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Utica, with the Rev. Jon Dunbar officiating.

Casketbearers were Grant Naber, Aaron Naber, John Naber, Kyle Naber, Douglas Gocke and Lloyd Naber.

Honorary casketbearers were Rachel Burke, Aimee Naber and Kelly Naber.

Burial was at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Waco.
