Daniel Moravec was born March 18, 1954 in Seward, the son of Edmund Ivan and Gladys Mary (Robison) Moravec and passed away following a seven year battle of illness and surgeries, at his lifelong home in rural Seward, on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at the age of 59 years, 6 months, 5 days.

Dan attended kindergarten at District 87 and the remainder of his schooling was in Seward where he graduated with the Seward High School Class of 1972. Dan lived his entire life on the family farm southeast of Bee where he farmed, milked and did custom work including hay and chopping silage. He had been an employee of Kawasaki for 29 years working as a material handler.

Dan was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Bee and a former member of the Bee Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Bee Bombers Softball Team and the Staplehurst Semi-Pro Baseball Team where he was affectionately named “Magic.”

Dan was united in marriage to Pamela Kay Sybert on Oct. 16, 1976, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Bee and their marriage was blessed with one daughter, Kayleah Moravec. Dan was a beloved husband and loving father.

Dan is preceded in death by his father, Edmund I. Moravec, and his sister, Kathleen Moravec.

Dan will be loved, remembered and cherished by his wife, Pam Moravec, and daughter, Kayleah Moravec, of rural Seward; his mother, Gladys M. Moravec, Seward; his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Dennis Buchholz of Aurora; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dave and Noreen Moravec, Georgetown, Texas, and Bob and Nancy Moravec, David City; father-in-law Charlie and Marsha Sybert, Lincoln; mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Elaine and Tom Tiritilli, Bullhead City, Ariz.; brother-in-law, Chuck Sybert, Lincoln; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and a host of friends.

Rosary/Divine Mercy Chaplet was Friday, Sept. 27, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial was on Saturday, Sept. 28, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Brendan Kelly officiating.

Graveside service and interment were at Bee Catholic Cemetery in Bee.
