Centennial volleyball is winding up a long stretch of games and played five last week. The Broncos were 3-2 in the matches, including a five-set loss to Sutton Sept. 14.

CHS swept Fairbury Sept. 12 behind 11 kills from Karley Naber and 10 by Catelynn Bargen.

“We did a nice job putting the ball away,” Coach Alex Anstine said.

The loss to Sutton was a back-and-forth battle. Anstine said Sutton made fewer mistakes, and that was the difference.

Karley Naber led the CHS offense with 18 kills, and Bargen added 11. Ella Wambold put up 39 assists, and she and Naber had 14 digs each.

At Central City Sept. 16, the Broncos lost to Central City 2-0, beat Lexington 2-0 and topped Boone Central 2-1 for fifth place. Bargen recorded a season-high 19 kills and no attack errors against Boone Central.

The Broncos (11-5) were at Wilber-Clatonia Sept. 19 and at Centura for a triangular with Broken Bow Thursday, Sept. 21. Anstine said both will be good competition.
