Tammy Louise (Bockoven) Kouma was born in Lincoln on March 7, 1984, to John and Linda (Petracek) Bockoven and passed away in Lincoln on March 30, 2023, at the age of 39 years and 23 days.

Tammy grew up on a turkey farm until the age of five when the family moved to Seward. She attended Seward High School and graduated with the Class of 2002. She was employed at Dollar General, Seward County Assessors, Orscheln Farm & Home and Walmart for many years. Tammy married her high school sweetheart, Dan Kouma, on Dec. 8, 2007, at the Dwight Assumption Catholic Church. Shortly after their marriage, Tammy was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and later Fibromyalgia.

In her free time, Tammy enjoyed helping Dan on the farm when she could and driving in figure 8 races. She had a love for all animals, but especially dogs, rabbits, goats, cats and lady bugs. Tammy also loved raising Sheltie puppies. She was a sweet and kind woman who loved her family very much. Throughout her many years of pain and suffering, Tammy would often pray for others as a way to find comfort. Her final gift was to donate her organs and tissue to help countless other people.

Tammy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Norman and Louise Bockoven, Lumir Petracek, Herb Vorderstrasse, Lyla Kouma and Clarence Wasser; and infant-in-law, Jesse Kouma.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her husband, Dan Kouma, III; parents, John and Linda Bockoven; parents-in-law, Dan, Jr. and Jody Kouma; brothers and sister-in-law, Nickolas (Elizabeth) Bockoven and Tyler Bockoven; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Derek (Lisa) Kouma, Jared (Dorian) Kouma, Mathew (Gina) Kouma, Sara (fiancé, Tyler Hrupek) Kouma and Michael Kouma; grandparents, Dan Kouma, Sr., Evelyn Wasser and Lois Vorderstrasse; nieces and  nephews, Dutch Bockoven, River Bockoven, Wade, Kaley, Wyatt and Klara Kouma and Trentin and Coltin Kouma; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
