Sylvia Carol Stauffer was born Dec. 9, 1939, in Utica, to Emil William Otto and Iona Reola (Finke) Fritz and passed away April 19, 2023, in Lincoln, at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 10 days.

Sylvia grew up in Seward, where she attended and graduated from Seward High School with the Class of 1957. On April 13, 1958, Sylvia was united in marriage to Harold Wayne Stauffer at St. John Lutheran Church, Seward. Sylvia worked at Southeast Community College for 20 years as a cook, she later worked at Seward Motor Freight as a dispatcher and customer service for another 20 years. She was a long-time member of the Milford United Methodist Church.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold, in 2012; and sister, Beverly Pierce.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her children, Randall D. and wife, Pat Stauffer, Hesston, Kansas, Nancy J. and husband, Scott Jenson, Lincoln, and Brenda S. and husband, Thomas Riley, Azle, Texas; seven grandchildren, Erin and husband, Garrett Pennington, Emily Stauffer, Jacob and wife, Kelsie Riley, Sarah and husband, Hunter Kunerth, Adam and wife, Sara Riley, Rebekah Riley and Isaac Riley; six great-grandchildren, Ethan Pennington, Everett Pennington, Norah Kunerth, Nolan Kunerth, Karter Kunerth, Payton Riley; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Friday, April 28, from 1 – 8:30 p.m. at Zabka-Perdue Funeral Home in Seward with family receiving friends from 6:30 – 8 p.m. The funeral   United Methodist Church with interment at Blue Mound Cemetery in Milford.
