SEPTEMBER 1, 2026 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. Representatives of the Seward County Chamber gave an update on their organization. Commissioners reported on their activities. Approved completion and final reimbursement for NDOT Bridge Match for a Bridge replacement on Raymond Road West of 350th Road. Approved one-year lease with NMC CAT for a mini excavator. Approved surplus property disposal requests for the Detention Center. Approved Chair to sign letter of support for Village of Staplehurst’s Community Block Grant Application. Approved Administrative Plat in Precinct A. Approved authorization of Chair to sign agreement with the State of Nebraska for purchase of a new public transit bus. Held Budget Meetings for offices of Assessor and Sheriff. Discussion was held on a formal complaint of neglected roadside vegetation; noncompliance of Zoning permit; and an unpermitted structure.
