Scott Carl Henning was born May 11, 1969, in York, to Ardene and Odevern (Spencer) Henning and passed away Oct. 3, 2023, in Omaha, at the age of 54 years, 4 months and 22 days.

Scott grew up in Seward where he attended and graduated from Seward High School with the Class of 1987. He grew up on the family farm and enjoyed helping his dad raise produce for the Haymarket Farmers Market in Lincoln in his spare time. In January of 1988, he joined the United States Marine Corp and proudly served four years, where he supported Operation Snow Cap, Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. After leaving the Marines, Scott joined the Army National Guard and served until 2000. He joined the Garland VFW post 369, where he was a lifetime member. After his time in the Army National Guard, Scott attended Wayne State College, where he received his Bachelor of Science in May of 1997 and his MBA in 1999. He married Brenda Anderson on June 17, 2000, and to this union, two children were born, Sebastian and Logan Henning. Scott worked for several years at Molex in Lincoln until the end of 2022. He enjoyed collecting and refurbishing model toy trucks, heavy equipment from the 40s, 50s, and 60s and Harley-Davidson memorabilia. Scott also relished driving his Ford Mustang GT, camping, gaming, heavy metal music and spending time with his friends, but he loved being with his sons, Sebastian and Logan, most of all.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Ardene and Odevern Henning; uncles, Gaylord Becker and Eugene Henning; and stepbrother, Steve McConnell.

Survivors cherishing his memory include his children, Sebastian Henning and Logan Henning, both of Lincoln; brother and sister-in-law, Mark (Kim) Henning of Seward; niece, Kanai Kuhnel; stepsister, Linda Schendt; aunt, Marilue Becker; mother of his children, Brenda Anderson; and numerous other family members and friends.

The funeral service was Oct. 10 with interment at the Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Garland American Legion Post #369. Arrangements by Zabka-Perdue Funeral Home.
