The sponsors for this contest are the GFWC Seward Women’s Club and the GFWC Seward Junior Women’s Club. The judge for the contest was photographer Ken Schmieding of Seward, the owner of Schmieding Photography in Seward and a professional photographer for almost 60 years.
“I really enjoyed judging this year’s student photography entries,” Schmieding said. “This group of students did an outstanding job with creativity and being on target. I appreciated the insight and story of their photos and how they followed the category and theme of the contest. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to judge these entries and I applaud the instructors and mentors of these new student photographers. Well done!”
Each student winner is presented with a signed certificate, a ribbon and a gold coin. The coins are donated/sponsored by the Cattle Bank and Trust in Seward.
Event co-chairs for this project are Jean Kolterman and Mary Meyer, GFWC Seward Women’s Club.
