NOTICE OF PERMIT ISSUANCE The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality (NDEQ) proposes to reissue with change the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit for Concordia University, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, 800 N. Columbia Ave., Seward, NE (NPDES# NE0133124; SIC 8221). The private university discharges non-contact cooling water from Weller Hall. The water source for the non-contact cooling water is a university-owned well. Non-process wastewater is discharged through Outfall 001, via storm sewer system, to Plum Creek segment BB4-20600 in the Big Blue River Basin. The permit would be issued for a period of up to five years and would restrict pollutant discharges to comply with the requirements of Department regulations. The draft permit, fact sheet and other public information are available for review at NDEQ’s Lincoln Office (address below) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.
