Concordia University hosted NAIA No. 1 Morningside for its final home football game of the 2022 season Nov. 12.

The Mustangs proved why they’re the defending national champion, beating CU 55-18 to end CU’s season with a 4-6 record.

Concordia trailed just 10-6 after the first quarter, but Morningside scored 14 in both the second and third quarters and 17 in the fourth.

The Mustangs finished with 599 yards of total offense – 234 through the air and 365 on the ground. Concordia had 318 yards – zero on the ground.

DJ McGarvie completed 31 of 54 pass attempts but was intercepted twice. He completed touchdown passes to Auston Jablonski, Carsen Arline and Korrell Koehlmoos.

Gabe Knisley led the CU defense with five solo tackles and five assists. Jayzen Armstrong intercepted two Mustang passes, and Luke Sanchez had one pick.
