MAY 24, 2022 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Boards of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED JUNE 21, 2022 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on May 24, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: John Culver Members: Misty Ahmic, Bob Vrbka, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky Approved minutes of May 10, 2022. Hladky gave an update of her office. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved the minutes of May 17, 2022. Approved Seward County claims through May 13, 2022. Officials gave reports of their offices. Approved awarding Courthouse HVAC Upgrade bid to Engineered Controls, Inc. Approved the opening and awarding of gravel bids. Bids were awarded to Johnson Sand & Gravel, Central Sand and Gravel and Dale R. Johnson Trucking Sand & Gravel. Opened Culvert bids. Bids will be awarded next week. Approved Right of Way Access Agreement with UNL. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved Amended Interlocal for the Lower Platte Weed Management Area. Approved Administrative Plat in F Precinct. Approved opening the Seward County Budget to add additional funds for the Sheriff Federal Drug Law Enforcement-Treasury fund No. 2412. Approved Grant award for the Seward County Senior Centers. Approved canceling the Seward County Board meeting on June 28, 2022, due to an election happening the same day. Discussions were held on disbursement of Seward County American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. Approved request to use the Courthouse Square to host an event for Nebraska Authors and Artists on June 25, 2022, from 2-5 p.m. with a rain date of July 9, 2022, as presented by Carla Ketner of Chapters Books and Gifts.
