Marlin Lee Burkey was born Nov. 26, 1928, near Beaver Crossing, the son of Arthur and Amanda (Stutzman) Burkey, and passed away Aug. 16, 2022, in Seward at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 21 days.

On Aug. 14, 1949, Marlin was united in marriage to Margie L. Schweitzer and they were blessed with two sons, Van and Brad.

Marlin was a farmer until they established Seward Implement in March of 1963 to October of 1997. He was a member of the Seward United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men and special groups.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Perry and Lorence; and two sisters, Alda and Verta.

Survivors cherishing his memory include his wife, Margie Burkey; two sons, Brad Burkey and Van Burkey; three granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Jennifer and husband, Karl Eickhoff, Angela and husband, Joshua Jorgensen and Michele and husband, Kyle Korth; six great-grandchildren, Owen and Nolan Eickhoff, Duke and Dallas Jorgensen and Hallie and Trigg Korth; two sisters, Loretta and husband, Roy Wolfer, and LeAnn Miller.
