Marlene Dora Nieman was born Feb. 21, 1937, in Emerald to John Lewis and Dora Emma (Deinert) Ninneman. She passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at her home at the age of 86 years.

Marlene grew up in Emerald, where her family owned many businesses. She attended Emerald Grade School and graduated in 1955 from Teacher's College in Lincoln. In August 1955, she married Clifton Weideman. To this union, two daughters, Vicki and Heidi, were born. In December 1961, Marlene married Rudolph Nieman and to this union, two sons were born, Rudolph, Jr. and Marc.

Marlene enjoyed gardening, bowling, singing and traveling. In 1979, they moved to Pleasant Dale and opened Rudy and Marlene's. They operated this for 13 years. Marlene was a member of the Pleasant Dale Auxiliary 354.

Marlene is survived by her children, Vicki (Stuart) Piening, Heidi Rapp, Rudy (Gina) Nieman, Jr., and Marc Nieman and Kris; eight grandchildren, and 4.5 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Zella Hisaw, Wilma Ninneman and Sandy (Bob) Bishop. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws; husband, Rudy; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Genevie Hutson; brother-in-law, Fred Hisaw; brother, Alvin Ninneman; grandson, Jason Rapp; and daughter-in-law, Tammie Nieman,

The funeral service was June 29 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Lincoln, with burial in the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested in care of the family for future designation. Arrangements by Trump Funeral Services, Lincoln.
