MARCH 31, 2026 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. Approved increase in Public Defender funds for misdemeanor cases. Approved minutes of March 24, 2026. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Opened bid for mowing of abandoned cemeteries. Approved ARPA fund payment to City of Seward for water tower construction. Approved 2024-2025 Fiscal Year Audit Report as submitted by GBE, CPA, to submit it to the State Auditor’s Office and Federal Clearinghouse. Approved road closures for Bee Buzz Run on April 12, 2026. Approved Road Dept. requests to seek bids for a used motor grader and a Tier 1 Hiring Bonus for construction and culvert crew position. Approved Chair to sign Letter of Engagement with Woods Aitken LLP. Discussions were held on clarifying a county owned parcel; and the budget preparedness process.
