MARCH 21, 2023 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Boards of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED APRIL 25, 2023 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on March 21, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. Present: Chairperson: John Culver Members: Misty Ahmic, Raegan Hain, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer. Approved minutes of March 14, 2023. Approved “Seward County Gives” organization’s request to use Courthouse lawn on May 3, 2023. Schweitzer gave an update of her office. Bobbi Blath and Sharon Reinmiller, representing the Village of Staplehurst, were present to discuss their application for Seward County American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) money. Denied request for 4H Groups to plant trees/bushes in abandoned cemeteries. Approved new starting wage for Administrative Assistant Clerk II position in the County Clerk’s Office. Approved temporary increase of Sheriff’s Office credit card limits. Approved Sheriff’s Office to solicit sealed bids for capital improvements of the Seward County TASK Force building. Held Executive Sessions for personnel and strategy session. Approved Road Project and discussed bridge inspection data. Approved contract with Gehring Construction for road project. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Discussions were held on infrastructure related grants, road department issues and disbursement of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
