MARCH 18, 2025 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED APRIL 22, 2025 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on March 18, 2025 at 9:01 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, Darrell Zabrocki, Ken Schmieding, Scott Pekarek Deputy County Clerk: Brandy Johnson Approved consent agenda consisting of minutes of March 11, 2025; and a utility permit in D precinct. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved authorizing chair to sign Public Transit Grant Application, franchise agreement with Spectrum Mid-America, LLC, and letter of support for the Nebraska Department of Transportation 2024 America’s Award Program. Approved request for CASA to provide blue lights for courthouse windows in the month of April for Child Abuse Prevention month. Held Executive Session to discuss strategy. Discussion was held on dust control program for Seward County roads, the use of the Seward County patrol office for criminal interdiction training through the company Desert Snow, the Daughters of the American Revolution and their work with abandoned cemeteries, Commissioner assignments for abandoned cemeteries, a legislative update.
