Lisa Kaye Williams was born Sept. 7, 1962, to Donald Semin and Lois (Timoney) Semin in Gardner, Kansas.

Don was in the Navy and the family spent time in Kansas, California and Tennessee before moving back to the parents’ hometown of Ulysses. Lisa graduated from Seward High School in 1980.

During the summer between her junior and senior years, she met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Williams in a science camp at Kearney State College. Lisa completed her Associate’s Degree in Nursing at UNMC, and then she and Bob were united in marriage on March 3, 1984, in Oxon Hill, Maryland. They lived in Bangor, Pennsylvania, for a few years before moving back to Nebraska. While working full-time, Lisa earned her B.S. in Nursing at UNL. She worked at Bryan Hospital for more than 30 years, with brief periods of separation as she courageously fought lymphoma three times. She was a very loving and compassionate nurse who touched the lives of many patients and co-workers.

Lisa had such a contagious love for life! She especially loved her children and grandkids. They meant everything to her and she would do anything for them. She loved to travel (especially anywhere near the ocean), to sew, as well as play Scrabble with her mother Lois and her sisters.

Lisa passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, surrounded by her family. She battled the latest cancer to the end and remains a beacon of light for everyone going through this disease.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her husband, Bob, Seward; son, Thomas Williams and wife Whitney, Hastings, and children, Caiden, Eliza and Ryker; daughter, Nicole Akers and husband Ryan, Wahoo, and children, Kalisa and Jameson; sisters, Lori Osborne and husband Bob, Seward, Dona Beard and husband Gary, Lincoln, and Mari Feerhusen and husband Randy, Lincoln; brothers-in-law, Mike Williams and wife Sue, Arlington, Virginia, Chris Williams and wife Ricki, Mclean, Virginia, and Peter Weichselbraun of Vienna, Austria; father-in-law, Thomas Williams, St. Augustine Beach, Florida; aunt, Eileen Verna, Washington, D.C., and many relatives and friends.

The Williams family would like to thank Dr. Susan Johnson, primary care provider, Dr. Cary Peterson and the staff at the Cancer Partners of Nebraska and everyone at Bryan Health who made her last days as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
