Linda Marie Kriz was born Feb. 19, 2003, in Lincoln, and passed away Oct. 22, 2023, in Brainard, at the age of 20 years, 8 months and 3 days.

Linda was in foster care for the first eight years of her life. She was adopted May 26, 2011, by Terry and Shelly (Vyhlidal) Kriz. Her mom courageously battled cancer and went to her heavenly home on Dec. 14, 2012.

Linda attended East Butler High School and graduated with the Class of 2021. She was known for her high-pitched voice and her infectious laugh, which her sister, Millie, often made fun of her for. Linda had a deep passion for all animals, especially her cat, Pheobe, and she enjoyed her involvement in 4-H. She absolutely loved her job as a para at Bellwood Elementary School in the preschool classroom and found so much joy in her students and co-workers. In her free time, Linda enjoyed gaming and meeting new people. She was often known for her independence and being a homebody. Linda spent a lot of time with her cousin, Reagan. She loved her family very much and would do anything for them. Linda was especially close and had a deep love for her dad. 

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Shelly Kriz, and grandpa, Milo Vanis.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her father and step-mother, Terry and Julie Kriz, Brainard; sisters, Olivia Kriz and Millie Kriz; stepsiblings, Kelsey (Brady) Papineau, Kolby Baer and Kurtis Baer; brothers, Mathew Logsdon, Jon Logsdon, Matthew Pinkman, Michael Pinkman and John Pinkman; grandparents, Dean and Lynelle Kriz and Dave and Lyn Vyhlidal and Judy Vanis; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was Oct. 30 at St. Francis Catholic Church in David City with inurnment at the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Brainard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Kriz Family for future designations. Arrangements by Zabka-Perdue Funeral Home.
