Leland D. Fisher, 80, of Beaver Crossing, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, at Sunrise Country Manor in Milford. He was born Dec. 5, 1943, in rural Frontier County, to Lenord S. and Ona Evalena (Blake) Fisher, the third of eight children.

As a young boy, Leland attended Maywood High School, graduating from Maywood High School with the Class of 1964. On Sept. 28, 1968, Leland married Katherine (Wear) Fisher at the United Methodist Church in Beaver Crossing, and from this union, two children were born: Christine, and Kevin.
Leland worked for farmers from the age of 16, a 30-year employee of Cushman Motors, four years for the Village of Beaver Crossing and several years at Beaver Crossing Co-op. Leland was a Jaycee’s, a board member and Loan Officer for the Cushman Credit Union, Beaver Crossing Volunteer Fire Department and the Beaver Crossing Chamber of Commerce. In his spare time, Leland, in his younger years, played baseball, softball and enjoyed hunting. As he got older, Leland took an interest in golfing.

Leland is survived by his wife, Katherin (Kathy) Fisher, Beaver Crossing; children, Christine (Paul) Harwood, Beaver Crossing; and Kevin (Kim McCord) Fisher, Seward; grandchildren, Mason Royal, Beaver Crossing, Brenden (Chentelle) Harwood, Giltner, Kyler (Presley) Harwood, Jacksonville, Arkansas, Callie (Grayson) Mixon, Austin, Arkansas, Emma Harwood, Middleton, Tennessee, and Bristol Harwood, Middleton; brothers, Elden (Elaine) Fisher, Lansing, Kansas, Marvin (Peggy) Fisher, Curtis, and Gary (Linda) Fisher, Curtis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ida Blake and LeaDean Fisher; brothers, Richard Fisher, Melvin Fisher and William Fisher.

A Celebration of Life was Feb. 24. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Beaver Crossing Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements by Lauber Funeral and Cremation Services.
