Kenneth D. Kessinger, age 90, of Blue Springs, Missouri, formerly of York, died Monday, May 23, 2022, in Oak Grove, Missouri.

He was born June 29, 1931, to Clarence and Glenna (Countryman) Kessinger in Lincoln, NE.  On Aug. 12, 1956, he was united in marriage to Deloris Dinkelman.

Ken proudly served our country in the United States Navy and belonged to the York American Legion Bolton Post #19, and Sunrise Sertoma. He was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waco. Ken was an accountant for Romans, Wiemers & Associates and Randy Mierau & Company in York. He was a woodcarver and belonged to Great Plains Carving Club. He enjoyed painting, sketching, photography, fishing and was also an avid coin collector.

Ken is survived by his wife, Deloris of Blue Springs; his daughters, Roxanna (David) Kerwood of Blue Springs, Kim (Mike) Christensen of Kearney, Natalie (Jim) Motis of Davis City, Iowa, and Robin (Rick) Needham of Cheney, Kansas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vernon.

A memorial service is scheduled 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, at St. John’s Lutheran Church south of Waco. Inurnment with military honors will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Cremation has occurred. No viewing, however his family will greet friends from 6- to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at Metz Mortuary in York.
