Kathleen Sue “Kathy” Schweitzer passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Kathy was born June 14, 1951, in Lincoln, to Burdette and Roselyn (Johnson) Schweitzer. She attended grade school in Lincoln and later moved to Seward. Kathy was employed with Hinky Dinky in Seward and later Duckwall Alco Stores in Norfolk. Kathy loved to sew, bake, read and spend time with her family.

Kathy was united in marriage to LeRoy Radford in 1968 in Seward. Their marriage was blessed with two children, David and Tammy. The couple later divorced. Kathy was united in marriage to Charlie Watson in June of 1973 in Seward and their marriage was blessed with three children, Sandra, Jason and Michael with stepchildren, Gary, Charlene, Mary, Sherry and Dan. The couple later divorced.

Kathy is survived by her children and their spouses, Dave Radford of Norfolk, Tammy (Jeff) Draper of Valparaiso, Sandy (Manny) Cubillos of Norfolk, Jason (Julia) Watson of Norfolk, and Mike (Tammy) Watson of Norfolk; grandchildren, Robert (Nikki) Draper, Michelle (Scott) Nice, Stephanie (Austin) Novak, Codie Watson, Braden Radford, Emmalee Stickler, Zoey Watson and Zander Watson; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Toovey; and many nieces, and nephews. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Burdette and Roselyn; brothers, Richard Schweitzer and Jerry Schweitzer; and stepdaughter Sherry Watson.

The funeral service was Feb. 3 with interment at the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk. Pianist was Karen Wantoch. Casket bearers were Robert Draper, Codie Watson, Braden Radford, Zander Watson, Adam Bethards, and Klayton Rerucha. Honorary casket bearers were Michelle Nice, Stephanie Novak, Emmalee Stickler, Zoey Watson and Nikki Draper.
