JUNE 23, 2026 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. Approved Valuation Change Notices. Held Protest hearing. Hladky gave an update of her department. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved minutes of June 16, 2026. Approved consent agenda consisting of: Utility Permit in H Precinct; Annual Report for Seward/Saline Solid Waste Mgmt; and Annual Return of Disposed Items for Road Dept. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved Short Form Plat in J Precinct. Held Public Hearing for a Permit to operate a Salvage Yard in I Precinct. Several members of the public were present to speak in opposition to the permit. Applicant spoke in favor of the permit. Permit was denied. Collin Hain and Duane Miner of the Seward Chamber were present to give an annual report of the organization and request funding for 2026-2027. Approved authorizing Weed Superintendent to send a 10 Day Noxious Weed Notice. Approved rescinding last week’s motion for pay increases at the jail for Corrections Officers. Approved new starting wage for Correction Officers. Approved wage increase for existing Correction Officers. Approved first payment to Accurate Controls for Justice Center VMS and Security Control Computer Upgrade out of Inheritance Fund. Approved new starting wages for Motor Grader and Heavy Equipment Operators. Approved wage increase for existing Motor Grader and Heavy Equipment Operators. Approved authorizing Chair to sign form for the 2025 EMPG grant approval. Approved Aging Services agreement between City of Lincoln and Seward County. Approved amendment of Seward County Budget for fiscal year 2025-2026. Discussions were held on the Annual Fraud Inquiry from GBE, CPA; and a potential moratorium on data centers in Seward County.
