Johnny Faye Krzeneski was born May 26, 1942, in Holdrege, to Vista Krzeneski and passed away May 1, 2023, in Seward, at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 5 days.

John attended Elliott Elementary School, Whittier Junior High School and graduated from Lincoln High School. Over the years, John worked various jobs. One of his first jobs was with his grandmother at a café as a dishwasher when he was a teenager. During high school, John worked for a farmer near Bennett and later ushered at the Stuart Theater. He often laughed about the suit he had to wear. John was employed at Hughes Brothers for about two years before he attended Southeast Community College in Milford in the auto body repair program. He then worked at DuTeau Chevrolet, Seward County Road Department and part time to help the Village of Garland. He spent the next 15 years working at R&J Service doing what he loved most, restoring old cars.

On Aug. 21, 1974, John was united in marriage to Marjorie Moulton at the Seward United Methodist Church. The couple lived in Garland for the next several years. John was very passionate about refurbishing old cars, building sprint cars and drag racing. In his free time, he enjoyed going to and participating in car shows where he showed off his 1927 T Bucket. He also loved to go fishing, hunting and going on camping trips with his family to Harlan County. He took pride in taking care of his lawn and was known to many as a kind, quiet man. In November of 1968, John joined the Garland Volunteer Fire Department and retired in April of 2012. John served as the fire chief for 22 years.
