Jennifer Lynn White was born Sept. 18, 1974, in Seward, to Darrell L. and Rita M. (Timoney) Shipley and passed away peacefully Jan. 20, 2024, with her family by her side, at the Butler County Health Center at the age of 49 years, 4 months and 2 days.

Jenny grew up in Ulysses and attended school in Ulysses and Staplehurst. She graduated from Aquinas Catholic High School with the Class of 1992. Jenny then went on to SCC and graduated with her associate degree in human resources. She began working at Region V and dedicated herself there for 13 years, contributing her skills and compassion to the community. Jenxny was united in marriage to Michael White on June 4, 1994, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ulysses. To this union, three children were born, Rebecka, Mitchell and Garrett. 

Jenny later became a stay-at-home mom and assisted on the farm. She helped as a parts runner and also ran a grain cart. Her vibrant spirit extended to various roles, including waitressing and delivering newspapers. She enjoyed volunteering in the library at Aquinas Catholic School and eventually became the school’s head cook, a position orchestrated by Father Timmerman.

Jenny was enthusiastic and known as the loudest supporter at Aquinas sporting events. She always had an inspirational quote or saying every day in the cafeteria. A true Nebraska sports enthusiast, she especially enjoyed volleyball, football and baseball.

Jenny was a great cook and enjoyed keeping her lawn absolutely perfect. Her love for her dog, Mindy, and passion for flowers were a big part of her life. Jenny also enjoyed decorating for every holiday. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren. Despite facing personal struggles, Jenny always wore a smile on her face and was always prioritizing the well-being of others. Her caring and compassionate heart left a mark on the lives she touched. 

Jenny was preceded in death by her father, Darrell Shipley; father-in-law, Kenny White; grandparents, Tom and Anna Mary Timoney, Leonard and Rose Shipley; and uncle, Ron Shipley.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her husband, Mike White, Ulysses; daughter, Becky Stapleton and husband, Trevor, Waterbury; two sons, Mitch and wife, MaryEll White, Rising City, and Garrett White, Ulysses; two grandchildren, Jovie and Boyd Stapleton; mother, Rita Shipley, Ulysses; siblings, Deb Navratil and husband, Ken, Tilden, Kathy Kinnett and husband, Mark, Ulysses, Mary Jo Leininger, and husband Dan, York, Terri Shipley, Bee, Tim and wife, Geri, Shipley, Lincoln, Dr. Rob and wife, Jami, Shipley, Dayton, Iowa, and Chris and wife, Danielle, Shipley of Bee; mother-in-law, Delores White, Ulysses; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. 

Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Zabka-Perdue Funeral Home in Seward and from 4 – 7 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ulysses with family receiving friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. at the church with interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ulysses. Memorial contributions are suggested to East Butler FFA, Dwight, Rising City or Ulysses fire departments, Butler County Health Care Center or to St. Jude Children’s Research.
