Kolton Loos was 3-3 at the plate. Connor Sveeggen was 2-3 with a home run and drove in two. Bostyn Happ was also 2-3 with an RBI.
A great pitching performance by Brycen Burt highlighted the day for the Jays against Raymond Central. Burt struck out 10 in 5.2 innings. He and Loos held the Mustangs to just two hits.
Kyle Riley and Deklan Lindau had two hits each, with Lindau driving in two runs.
Seward and Wahoo/Bishop Neumann were tied 4-4 going into the sixth inning in Seward. WBN scored two in the sixth and two in the seventh, while Seward put up one in each inning, making the final 8-6.
Sveeggen got the start on the mound and pitched four innings, striking out seven. Loos pitched the final two innings and took the loss.
Burt was 2-3 with an RBI to lead the Jays. Riley, Lindau and Quin Berner had the other hits, with Lindau hitting a double.
The Jays (1-3) were scheduled to play at Beatrice March 31 and at Platte Valley April 1. Platteview is set to visit Seward Thursday, April 3, for a 4:30 p.m. game, and the Jays are set to host Omaha Skutt Saturday, April 5, at noon.
