JANUARY 27, 2026 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. Highway Supt., Jon Regnier gave an update of his department. Garry Dittmar was introduced as Veteran of the Month. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved Chair to sign the Nebraska Dept. of Agriculture (NDA) Noxious Weed/Weed Superintendent Annual Report for 2025. Held Executive Sessions for personnel and for pending litigation. Approved Chair to sign the contract from Sunflower Grant Writers. Approved Deputy County Attorney to sign a Letter of Engagement with NIRMA for representation for pending litigation. Performed quarterly jail inspection. Discussion was held on dust control on county roads; an agreement with CentralSquare to grant permission and allow access to Fillmore County Sheriff’s Department; Public Transit funding and potential department reduction measures to assist with extending the grant reimbursement; and feedback on a Future of Agriculture in Nebraska (AFAN).
