Janet Joy Hansen of Torrington, Wyoming, was born Sept. 6, 1944, to Lymann E. and Joy M. (Weddle) Eurich in Friend.
She graduated from Friend High School. On May 28, 1982, Janet was united in marriage to Chris Hansen in Friend. Janet worked for Hughes Bros. Manufacturing. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, baking, sewing and gardening. Janet passed away June 17, 2023, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at the age of 78.
She is survived by her children, Owen (Monica) McCullough of Seward, Anissa (Wayne) Servantez of Torrington, Brenda (Kevin) Potts of Lincoln, Connie Hansen (Ron Vajgrt) of Lincoln, Lois (Larry) Payne of Bee, Kathy (Bill) Shottenkirk of Lincoln, Dale Hansen of Lincoln, Dan (Trisha) Hansen of Staplehurst, and Dave (Cindy) Hansen of Lincoln; grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., and Tyler Potts, Kylie Joe and Ben Shottenkirk, Brandon Clark, T.J. Svara, Austin, Robert, Paige, Skyler, Tonya and Sarah Hansen, Christina (Payne) (John) Smith, Erik, Dustin and Jessica Payne, and Tiberius and Katelyn McCullough; brother, Larry (Linda) Eurich of Papillion; sister-in-law, Patricia Eurich of Friend; many nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Joy and Alfred Matejka; father, Lymann Eurich; husband, Christie Hansen; brother, John Eurich; and sister, Linda Hamlin.
The funeral service was June 27. Committal will be held at a later date in Independence, Virginia. Memorial contributions are suggested in care of the Hansen family. Arrangements by Volzke Funeral Home.
