Names released in fatal I-80 crash

The Nebraska State Patrol has identified two men killed in a head-on collision on Interstate 80 near mile marker 371 Tuesday morning. 

The NSP in a press release said dispatch was informed of a two-vehicle crash in the westbound lane of the interstate. Upon arrival, troopers and Seward County Sheriff's deputies located two semis fully engulfed.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a semi, driven by Lloyd Shobe, 63, of Mesa, Arizona, was traveling east on the interstate when his vehicle crosed the median and entered the westbound lane. He collided with another semi, driven by 48-year-old Richard Turner of Pella, Iowa. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. 

The westbound lane of Interstate 80 in the area was closed for nearly six hours. The investigation is ongoing.
