Ella Eager House gets national recognition

A two-and-a-half story wood framed Queen Anne style residence built in Beaver Crossing 120 years ago has officially cemented its place on the National Register of Historic Places. The Ella Eager House is the first residence in Seward County to be added to the register in about 40 years. Becky Thaldorf-Latka and Linda Kalbach own the Ella Eager House. The couple had never been to Beaver Crossing before but moved to town in August of 2020 after seeing the house up for sale. “The craftsmanship, the gorgeous woodwork, the exquisite details – it was just stunningly beautiful,” Kalbach said. “We knew we had to at least go and look at it.” The couple will host an open house event on March 23 to celebrate the home’s new status as a historic place. Everyone will be welcome to tour the house at 915 Walnut St. and have snacks.
