Milford volleyball continued its hot start to the 2026 season with two more wins last week. The Eagles beat Freeman 22-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-23 and Wahoo 25-12, 25-12, 25-14.
“I think all of our girls continue to improve in a lot of areas as a team and individually. They all have different areas that they put forth more focus to improve their skills for the team’s sake,” Coach Emily Restau said.
In the win over Freeman Sept. 1, Ashlynn Miller had a career night, the coach said. She had 12 kills and recorded two block assists.
Adalyn Cisneros continues to settle into her new role as a setter/hitter and had 12 set assists and 21 digs in the match. Braelynn Muller also continues to improve all facets of her game while adding the setting position to her duties, Restau said. Muller had 13 kills, two ace serves, 25 set assists and two digs.
Against Wahoo, Muller led the team with 10 kills. Karissa Schweitzer served four aces, and Libbie Reil picked up 12 digs.
“I thought our girls did a great job continuing to be ready even when their number wasn’t one of the seven numbers on the starting lineup,” Restau said. “This will be a key piece to our team’s success this year. Be mentally ready no matter what role you start with, because throughout a match we might need a change somewhere, and it could be you.”
She’d like the Eagles to clean up serve receive and blocking, as well as upping the tempo on offense.
Milford (3-0) will have a full week with some tough opponents. MHS was to travel to Fillmore Central Sept. 8, and host Aurora and Lincoln Christian Thursday, Sept. 10, with Milford’s matches starting at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 12, the Eagles will play at the Malcolm Invite, which will be at Lincoln Northwest. Other teams in the field include Kearney Catholic, Elmwood-Murdock, Superior, Shelby-Rising City, Nebraska Christian and Lincoln Lutheran.
