Donald Ivan Dierberger, Sr., was born Jan. 31, 1940, to Orval and Otta A. (Mangan) Dierberger, in Sargent.
He attended North Loup High School, graduating in 1958. On Nov. 28, 1964, Donald was united in marriage to Beverly Asp. He was a hose technician at Goodyear for more than 44 years, and a lifetime farmer. In his free time, he enjoyed farming and livestock and mentoring 4-H members. He also collected toy tractors. He was a member of United Steelworkers of America while with Goodyear. Donald passed away May 6, 2023, in Seward at the age of 83.
He is survived by his wife, Bev Dierberger of Garland; children, Donald Dierberger, Jr., of Seward, Sheryl (Monty) Woodward of Raymond and Connie (Matt) Arnold of La Vista; grandchildren, Sam (Karissa), Alicia (Jon), Trevor, Coryn (Taylor), Sebastien, Amber; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Sawyer and Annalise; siblings, Glen Dierberger, Yvonne Clark, Virgil (Rita) Dierberger, Dolores Rood, Chet (Mary) Dierberger; and numerous nieces and nephews .He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Otta Dierberger; and sister, Erma Irene.
The memorial service is Wednesday, May 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Volzke Funeral Home in Seward with committal at the Evangelical Lutheran Trinity Cemetery (Elk Slough) in Garland. Memorial contributions are suggested in care of the Dierberger family. Arrangements by Volzke Funeral Home.
