Delores Eileen (West) Nordmeyer, of York, was born Nov. 9, 1926, to William and Martha (Pflughaupt) Winkelmann in Staplehurst

She received her GED from Seward High School. On Sept. 18, 1945, Delores was united in marriage to Carl G. West at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica. Following Carl’s passing, Delores married Walter O. Nordmeyer on Feb. 14, 1976, also at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica. Delores was licensed as a cosmetologist in 1945. She worked as a sales clerk at JC Penney and most recently at Pac-N-Save as a checker.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was a Gold Star Sister of American Legion Auxiliary Post #49 in Utica. In her free time, she enjoyed dancing, traveling and playing cards. Most recently, she enjoyed crocheting and bird watching. Delores passed away May 7, 2022, in York, at the age of 95 years, 5 months and 28 days.

She is survived by her children, Diane Lovell of Waverly, Anita Neville of York, Leona (Daniel) Miller of McCool Junction, Lola (Ralph) Young of Lincoln, Janet (Robert) Palik of David City, Joan Hladky of Seward; grandchildren, Steven (Jenny) Pond, Kimberly (Tony) Loth, Amanda (Ben) Carpick, Nicholas (Anita) Lovell, Andrew (Logan) Lovell, Mikaella (Zach) Cardisco, Brian (Jessica) West, Kelly West, Cathy Norquest, Carl (Alicia) Neville, Mark (Heather) Neville, Jared (Amber) West, Brant (Sarah) West, Lynn (Selina) West, II, Jesse (Amber) West, Lacey (Zach) Hanson, Jamie (Cory) Reinke, Kira (Adam) Matzner, Ramsey (Sarah) Young, Wesley Young, Kevin (Hieu) Palik, Craig (Megan) Palik, Shelley (Bob) Ilangikwa, Adam Hladky, Sally (Rob) Saf, Beth (Jason) Coffman; 55 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Phyllis West of McCool Junction, Linda West of York, sisters, Laverne Rohren and Valora Reiger; sisters-in-law, Barbara Fortner, Gladys West and Nona Othling. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, William and Martha Winkelmann; husbands, Carl West and Walter Nordmeyer; sons, Neil West and Lynn West; sons-in-law, Franklin Lovell, Dennis Neville and Eugene Hladky; infant sister; brothers; Alfred Winkelmann, Alvin (Bonnie) Winkelmann, Gerald (Joann) Winkelmann and Dennis Winkelmann; brothers-in-law, Leonard Rohren and Robert Reiger.
