Dean Allen Brockhoff, Lincoln, was born Feb. 18, 1926, in St Joseph, Missouri, and passed away Aug. 15, 2022.

Dean graduated from Seward High School midterm in 1944 to enlist in the U.S. Navy, where he attended radar operator school at Point Loma, San Diego, California. He served as a radar operator aboard an attack transport in the Pacific during World War II. After being discharged from the Navy, he graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Dean was employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and lived in Chicago, Illinois, and Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dean returned to Seward and was employed by Protective Fire and Casualty Company, and later Jones National Bank. He retired from the Nebraska Department of Insurance in Lincoln.

Dean married Phyllis Eberspacher on Sept. 2, 1955. To this union two children were born, Gary and Lisa. Dean was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to all.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Mary Brockhoff; and wife, Phyllis Brockhoff. Survivors cherishing Dean’s memory include his children, Gary and wife, Jodi Brockhoff, Lincoln, and  Lisa Brockhoff, Omaha; grandchildren, Matthew and wife, Brittany Brockhoff; great-grandchildren, Camden and Berkeley Brockhoff, Lincoln; nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life was Aug. 22 at Seward United Methodist Church with a private family inurnment. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Seward Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Seward United Methodist Church. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.zabkafuneralhome.com.
