David C. Nuttleman

David Carl Nuttleman, a loving husband father and grandfather, passed into eternal happiness on Jan. 9, 2024, in Venice, Florida.

He was born Dec. 9, 1941, in Seward, to Rudolph F. and Melzena A. (Dissmeyer) Nuttleman. Dave graduated from Seward High School and from the University of Nebraska with a business degree and went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska Law School. 

David married Diane E (Penny) Olson on Sept 3, 1967. Upon his graduation in May 1969, they moved to Gering, where he practiced law for 20 years at Holtorf Kovarik P.C. After moving to Venice, in 1989, he practiced law for almost 20 years with Bruce L. Scheiner & Assoc. 

Dave and Penny were blessed with three children; two daughters, Catherine (Travis) Rein of Louisville, Colorado, and Lisa (George) Gazzam of Euless, Texas; and grandchildren, Mason and Kyra Rein and Tyler and Elizabeth Gazzam. He was predeceased by his wife, Penny; son, Daniel; brother, William; and his parents and parents-in-law, Robert G and Jean A Olson. Dave is survived by his brother, Rudolph G. (Sandra) Nuttleman of Seward; sister, Patrica (Gary) Dornhoff of Minden; sister-in-law, Karen Nuttleman of Lincoln; many nieces and nehews;; and brothers-in-law, James Olson of Putna Gorda, Florida, and Dr. Patrick Olson, San Diego, California.

Following retirement, Dave and Penny enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. He is greatly missed by family, friends and neighbors in Nebraska and Florida. A private burial has taken place at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff.
