Courtney Renae Graff, 39, of Castle Rock, Colorado passed away unexpectedly Sept. 16, 2023. She was born Feb. 14, 1984, to Steve Haas and Kathy Haas in Seward.
Courtney was a fun-loving, high-energy individual who embraced adventure in life. Courtney dedicated herself professionally to education. She had a love for math, science, and hands-on learning. She had high expectations for her students while developing strong classroom community where students felt comfortable and loved. Courtney taught first, second and fourth grades in Castle Rock.
Outside of her professional life, Courtney had a wide range of hobbies that brought her joy and fulfillment. Hiking, gardening, and baking were her favorites. Courtney loved the Fourth of July in Seward. Claire, Levi, and Hadley were the light of Courtney’s life. She loved and cherished them. Courtney was excited about what her children’s future would bring.
Courtney is survived by her cherished children, Claire, Levi and Hadley; father and stepmom, Steve and Beth Haas; mother, Kathy Haas; brother, Jarod Haas; sister and brother-in-law, Emily and Jeremy Knakmuhs, and brother, Bailey Haas.
A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Millhouse at Phillip S. Park, Castle Rock Co.
Courtney’s fun-loving smile, vibrant spirit, love for adventure, and dedication to education will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowledge of knowing her. She will be missed, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
