COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS SEPTEMBER 30, 2025 Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. Approved consent agenda consisting of the July 2025 Sheriff Fee & Mileage Report, and the 2025 Seward County Joint Public Hearing Report. County Clerk, Sherry Schweitzer was honored for 47 years of service to Seward County. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Larry Heyen was introduced as Veteran of the Month. Approved setting the tax request for Seward County 2025 2026 fiscal year. Approved Chair to sign the Nebraska Game and Parks Environmental Report and the Nebraska Regional Interoperability Network Interlocal Agreement. Held Public hearing for and approved purchase of ADA minivan. Approved 2 short form plats in Precincts A and J. Held hearing for and approved permit to upgrade an existing wireless tower in Precinct L. Approved 2 agreement for the Detention Center with Advanced Correctional Health Care and Guardian RFID. Detention Center Director, Sara Stenger gave an update of the Detention Center.
