COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS MAY 13, 2025 Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED JUNE 17, 2025 The Seward County Board of Equalization convened on May 13, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, Darrell Zabrocki, Ken Schmieding, Scott Pekarek County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer County Assessor: Marilyn Hladky Approved two Permissive Exemptions and denied 3 tax exemptions. Hladky gave an update of her office. Convened as the Board of Commissioners. Approved Consent Agenda consisting of: minutes of May 6, 2025; and Sheriff Fee & Mileage Reports for March 2025. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Held Public Hearing and approved permit for upgrade to an existing Wireless Tower in O Precinct. Approved starting wages for several county positions effective July 1, 2025. Patrick Kriefels of Region V gave an update of the organization and a request for funding. Matt Kasik of Apace gave an update of the organization. Discussion was held on Aging Services Board applications; BNSF Incentive for a Milford Crossing Closure; internet service providers request for support for BEAD Program applications; and legislative information.
