COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS MARCH 04, 2025 Board of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED MARCH 25, 2025 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on March 4, 2025 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: Misty Ahmic Members: Raegan Hain, Darrell Zabrocki, Ken Schmieding, Scott Pekarek County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Jonathan Jank of the Seward County Chamber gave an update of the organization. Highway Supt., John Regnier gave an update of the department. County Clerk, Sherry Schweitzer gave an update of her office. Approved consent agenda consisting of minutes of February 25, 2025 and a utility permit in G precinct. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Opened two bids for Road Dept. Belly Dump Trailer and approved the bid from RDO Truck Center. Approved the adoption of the 1 & 6 Year Road Plan. Approved utility permit in H precinct. Approved revised “Closure of County Offices Due to Declared Emergency” policy. Discussions were held on the 420th Road Paving Project, Department Closing policy, Public Transit grant application, a potential Field Assistance Position in the Road Dept./Zoning Dept., an agreement to install automated license plate readers, a proposed scrap tire clean-up day, and a legislative update.
