Carol B. Dey of Gresham was born Oct. 2, 1934, to Frank W. and Marie (Samuelson) Johnson in Waverly.
She attended Waverly High School, graduating in 1952. She then attended Nebraska Wesleyan. On April 8, 1960, Carol was united in marriage to Hubert J. Dey at Bethlehem Covenant Church in Waverly. Carol worked for Ameritas in insurance administration and management. She also worked as a manager at Lincoln Liberty Life for 31 years. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Gresham, where she played the organ. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and she was an avid sports enthusiast, especially all Husker sports. She cherished time spent with family. Carol passed away June 28, 2022, in Lincoln at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 26 days.
She is survived by her sister, Jean (Marlo) Burg of Lincoln; nephews, John (Debra) Burg of Papillion, Allen (Kristen) Naber of Gresham and Richard (Lucy) Naber of Lincoln; niece, Donna Beck of David City; nephew-in-law, Morton Dickson III of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grand nieces and nephews; and great-grand nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Dey; parents, Frank and Marie Johnson; infant brother, Glenn Johnson; grandparents; and niece, Marta (Burg) Dickson.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, July 12, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Gresham. A private committal will be conducted at the church cemetery.
